With the support of new technologies and intelligent pack design, Wipak said it is taking its strategic pledge to reduce the company’s carbon footprint to zero by 2025 to the next level.

GreenChoice has been designed for one purpose only: to make the choice in favour of more sustainable packaging as easy as possible,” said Hery Henry, Wipak Group head of brand & sustainability.

Upfield teamed up with Quantis, an international sustainability consultancy specialising in Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), to measure its impact on the climate and the environment.

In addition to Flora margarine, Upfield makes more than 100 brands, including Rama, Blue Band, Proactiv, Becel, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Country Crock and Violife. The company sells its products in more than 95 countries, has 17 manufacturing sites throughout the world and employs more than 4,100 associates.

With the launch of three new compact cameras, as well as an additional mid-range variant, the Ruler3000 family now spans fields of view between 26.6mm and 1,680mm, down to heights of 0.8μm micrometres. 

Sidel has designed an aseptic lab filler to be situated in Yili Group‘s specially constructed facility primarily for research and development.

Compact in scale, the aseptic lab filler was conceived to enable Yili to research and test product designs consisting of a small number of bottles with different shapes and sizes.

The line also reportedly allows Yili’s developers to customise any element of the test projects, ranging from the overall product to the specific neck, bottle format or capping.

The system produces transparent flexible packaging that reduces wall thickness by 15% compared to other injection moulded containers – optimizing the weight of the pack and the amount of raw material needed to produce it.

Initial industrial tests have reportedly achieved high performance and efficient energy use by reducing the injection cycle by up to 10%. Up to 30% recycled food-grade PET can be utilized, the company continues – helping customers align with legislation across Europe.
