New in-house blending capabilities at Esterform Packaging

Esterform has recently installed in-house PET blending facilities at its specialist preform manufacturing site in Leeds. This new in-house facility offers greater flexibility with regard to the percentages of RPET used in manufacture. In order to provide the capacity to store greater quantities of raw material and to house the new blends we have also invested in new silo capacity.

GLOBAL PLASTIC PACKAGING MANUFACTURER SELECTS KANSAS CITY FOR NEW FACILITY

The ALPLA Group, a global packaging solutions manufacturer and recycling specialist headquartered in Hard, Austria, announced that it has selected the Kansas City region for its new 23,000-square-metre manufacturing plant.

 

In its new manufacturing plant in Kansas City, ALPLA will produce injection-moulded products such as closures.

In a facility located at the Blue River Commerce Center in Kansas City, Missouri, the regional organisation ALPLA Inc. will create 75 jobs while continuing to invest in the city over the next several years.

Packaging Molder Adopts Wireless Machine Monitoring

A Dutch custom injection and blow molder has outfitted 40 extrusion blow molding machines with a wireless system for monitoring operating status and plans to extend the system to 30 more injection-blow and injection molding machines. Flestic in Dronten, the Netherlands, is now using the SmartMonitor system from Werma Signaltechnik in Germany (Werma USA Inc., Norcross, Ga., werma.com), which is described as a simple, cost-effective and retrofittable alternative to more complex monitoring systems.

Socar makes impact on thin-wall packaging

The two ICP resins are the first in Socar’s portfolio to incorporate Milliken Chemical’s Hyperform HPN performance additive for PP. The two firms have been working together on developing the materials for the past year.

According to Socar, the new grades are ideal for use in thin-wall injection moulded (TWIM) packaging applications such as caps, closures and opaque containers, as well as in various housewares, sporting goods and toys.

Pakistan’s leading machinery lubricant maker enters into plastic packaging business

“We are pleased to announce that the executive management of HTL has decided to enter new business opportunities in the plastic packaging industry by venturing into the production of plastic products for external customers and third parties,” said HTL in a statement.

The company informed that this business will be pursued through the existing plant site of HTL subsidiary Hi-Tech Blending (Pvt.) Ltd. (HTBL).
