A range of 160g chocolate boxes have been produced: Dark Heaven, Milk Heaven and Assorted Heaven. The packaging has been carefully crafted using 100% post-consumer recycled material and is fully recyclable. The clear viewing window is produced from recycled UK water bottles adding to the sustainable appeal.

Leeds firm Fenton Packaging Solutions helps manufacturer Silberline reduce its carbon footprint

“We had been freighting empty, nestable, stackable, 6-gallon steel pails for our European pigments operations from a manufacturing facility in Ohio, in the United States to our plant in Leven, Scotland, for around 15 years,” says Silberline Operations Director Alan Snaddon.

New sustainable alternative to shrink wrap for PET bottle multipack

DS Smith is collaborating with Krones AG to develop an alternative solution to shrink wrap on PET bottle multipack called the EcoCarrier.

Features:

A corrugated handle, paper band and the Krones mechanisation system which allows for large PET bottles to be bundled without problem plastic shrink wrap.

Benefit

EcoCarrier offers substantial benefits in terms of Carbon footprint up to -71% , recyclability, planet safe, renewable sources, and recycled content. This is a commercially attractive solution, easy to carry and to recycle.

Chapelton secures carbon neutral status with CarbonQuota

It follows a six month process by CarbonQuota, which specialises in calculating the carbon impact of manufacturing.
Chapelton managing director, Neil Skelton, said: “This is a great beginning for Chapelton. Achieving Carbon Neutral status will benefit our customers and suppliers, eventually offering products that meet the needs of the environmentally conscious. This first step is focusing on our direct operations and in the future we will include all logistics and products.”
