StaCan – the "Star" of the lever-lid cans

The StaCan continues to win new customers due to its simple, easy handling. This lever-lid can has excellent sealing properties and is also stackable. The metal packaging can be easily opened by using a flat object (such as a screwdriver) and just as easily reclosed. The patented lid design ensures that the lid does not stick.

Cap For Premium Oil in glass Bottles

An aluminium combination cap for premium oil in glass bottles, developed by closurelogic and called OLIO Premium for Consumer Convenience. The closure features a patented HDPE pourer which greatly improves the overall consumer experience according to company. Both elements of this cap need each other to provide the solution. An integrated ‘No-Touch’ system enables hygienic opening and handling, while the flow control within the insert allows for precise pouring. The drop-cut system means both the bottle and label stay clean as the excess liquid is captured and returned to the bottle.

M&S slashes plastic use in food packaging to cut waste

A major UK supermarket has slashed the amount of packaging used for its popular snacks such as crisps and popcorn by reducing the pocket of air at the top of the bag. As a result of so-called ‘Project Thin Air’, more than 140 of Marks & Spencer’s best-selling products have been redesigned and repackaged in smaller, less bulky packets containing the same amount of food as before. The biggest reductions have been achieved in the retailer’s popular popcorn range, with a 37% slimming down in pack size.

Bag-in-Box Packaging for Motor Oil

Motor oil has traditionally been stored in plastic bottles which typically use around 85% more material than the new Bag-in-Box packaging solution by smurfit kappa.

This design facilitates easier, more precise pouring and reduces the likelihood of spillage. The reinforced bag inside the box is made of a unique combination of polyethylene and nylon films which contains the aroma and prevents the oil particles from migrating. The bag is also very resistant to flex-cracking due to strong seals and tough film.

Convenient Cheese Packaging

This pack is an easy-open and re-closable carton made of cardboard, and a new opening mechanism with the high-quality printed-foil singles packaging. The "easy opening" tamper-safe seal, good extraction ability of the individual slices as well as the high degree of reusability were noted. The cardboard packaging creates a competitive differentiator with a new market positioning. In addition, production of the inert gases carbon dioxide and nitrogen can be avoided by 100 %.

The Encre Noire saga by Lalique takes its inspiration from the ‘Encrier Biches’ (inkwell) designed by René Lalique in 1913. First introduced in 2006, the latest edition is an intense, masculine fragrance that sheds new light on the personality of the Encre Noire man. “Virile and sensuous. Refined and demanding. Singular and seductive. Between darkness and light, Encre Noire à l’Extrême redefines masculinity,” explains Lalique. The powerful woodsy blend of cypress and vetiver is reflected in the packaging, which features a wooden cap produced by Quadpack Group.

New Terminal Reel Box

This developed high-intensity octagon terminal reel box made from one sheet. With this development transportation efficiency grows 122% by increase stacking number and reduces the related cost. Fixing inner products firmly by folding four corners. Hard collapse structure even loaded out of right position during transportation. It became easier taking out products by setting a zipper to one side. Octagonal shape fixes the products firmly, and be difficult to collapse even if it was stacked incorrect.

Double chamber pharmaceutical blister acts as mixer and dispenser

The Frangible Formpack® Blister, is an aluminium foil blister pack, with several chambers, made of Amcor Flexibles’ Formpack® bottom web and a lidding foil. The Frangible Formpack® Blister, jointly developed with machine builder Rohrer - Leading Solutions, enables moisture sensitive, dry drugs or vaccines requiring delivery in a liquid, to be contained in the same package safely, prior to mixing and dispensing from it. One chamber is filled with a dry powder incorporating the active ingredient (highly moisture-sensitive), the other one with a liquid.
