Bottle Turns Celebrations Upside Down

The 500ml Bottle Shaped Jar has been designed to stand on its cap, allowing the top to be shaped to resemble a champagne cork. The base has a diameter of 63mm with an RTS neck finish, making the jar easy to combine with standard closures.

The wide mouth makes the jar both easy to fill and access for a wide range of chocolate and confectionery products. The clarity of the PET helps to ensure products stand out on-shelf, and a choice of attractive decoration options can reinforce branding and consumer appeal.

To be able to distribute the ‘All-in-one Seal’ promotion, consisting of 12 tubes together with 12 spouts, Den Braven decided to contact DS Smith Plastics to design a universal packaging to be used both in brick and mortar and online stores.

DS Smith Plastics has the technique to produce packaging made from post-consumer plastic waste but Den Braven wanted to take this a step further and challenged the R&D department in Bilzen to produce the packaging of recycled empty tubes of seal and glue.

Canary Wharf is the World’s First Commercial Centre to be Awarded Plastic Free Communities Status By Surfers Against Sewage.

On World Environment Day, Wednesday 5 June 2019, Canary Wharf Group plc has been awarded Plastic Free Communities Approved status by marine conservation charity Surfers against Sewage; in recognition of its work to reduce single-use plastic at Canary Wharf.

Canary Wharf is the first district in London to achieve this sought-after status and is the world’s first Plastic Free Commercial Centre to be recognised by Surfers against Sewage.

The Multi-Tear Closure Label is provided with a special combination of security effects that prevents undetected opening of pharmaceutical packaging. Thus, it satisfies the requirements of the EU Falsified Medicines Directive and the international ISO 21976:2018 standard, “Tamper Verification Features for Medicinal Product Packaging,” that is based on the European DIN EN 16679:2014.

TC Limited Launches First of its kind Multi-Layer Plastic (MLP) Collection Programme in Pune along with SWaCH and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)

ITC Ltd, a diversified conglomerate and a pioneer in building scalable and sustainable solid waste management models in India, today announced a first of its kind 360-degree model for sustainable management of Multi-Layered Plastic (MLP) packaging waste in Pune in partnership with SWaCH, a leading waste-pickers cooperative and with active patronage and cooperation from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The initiative also marks the launch of a multi-layer plastic waste storage facility in Uruli Devachi Pune, with a capacity to handle 200 MT of MLP waste per month.

No harmful chemicals in PET bottles, finds CSIR study

PET bottles are safe, a comprehensive evaluation by the CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore has determined.

For years there’s been a swirling debate internationally on whether PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles, which are the mainstay of plastic bottles and disposable food containers, leach harmful chemicals when exposed to high temperatures.
