Hidden Sea Wine Eyes New Audience With Re-Freshed Look

From this month, bottles will move from a laser-printed design to black and white embossed paper labels to enhance on-shelf standout and to communicate its premium proposition to consumers. The new design places greater emphasis on the brand’s whale motif, Hidden Sea’s purpose, and ocean-saving promise.

Packaging industry bodies APCO and AIP join forces

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the Australian and New Zealand packaging landscape, the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) and the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) have jointly announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under this agreement, the two peak bodies have formed a strategic partnership that aims to improve packaging and sustainability knowledge in the Australia and New Zealand region.

Wales hosts Festival of Seaweed as industry looks to plastic alternatives

Conservationists, politicians, investors, and fishers joined an esteemed line-up of festival-goers from May 16 to 19 when the city of St Davids hosted a series of talks and discussions, including that from Dr Alex Newness, co-founder and coo at PlantSea as he discussed the use of seaweed as a plastic replacement in packaging.

Dr Alex spoke of the benefits of making the material swap including the move to reduce micro plastics, reduce carbon, and contribute to a resilient green economy.

JPFL Films to invest INR 250cr for new BOPP Line

•    New BOPP line to have a capacity of 60,000 TPA
•    Expected to be commissioned in the second half (H2) of FY 25-26

New Delhi, 21st August 2024: JPFL Films Private Limited, a subsidiary of flexible packaging giant Jindal Poly Films Ltd, has announced a capacity expansion with a new BOPP line in Nashik, Maharashtra. The new line, expected to be commissioned in H2 FY 25-26 will see a capex commitment of INR 250 cr.

Apple and RISE team up to develop biobased foam for packaging

The low-density, cellulose-based foam is derived from responsibly sourced wood pulp, the same material used in paper products. The newly developed cellulose foam boasts several key advantages. It demonstrates excellent properties like compression resistance and a uniform pore structure, making it aesthetically pleasing. Most importantly, this bio-based material is fully compatible with existing paper packaging recycling streams. This not only reduces reliance on fossil fuels but also simplifies the recycling process.

Oman Air Reinforces Sustainability Goals with Eco-Friendly On-Board Earphone Packaging

Working with Linstol, a global eco-friendly in-flight products provider, the airline anticipates the change will enable it to eliminate 6.48 tonnes of non-recyclable waste material each year, an amount which equates to saving an estimated 110 trees from deforestation or conserving 207,360 litres of water.
