The packaging of beauty products is hard. Many products have certain requirements to ensure their quality, while many consumers want packaging that is easy to use and easy on the eye. Meeting all of those requirements in a recyclable format is both challenging and expensive.

Mars Incorporated confirmed it has made the switch to recyclable paper packaging for a limited time, with the bars available in Tesco stores during a pilot to explore different packaging options. Once the pilot is over, Mars said it will use what it has learned to inform other trials.

TotalEnergies Corbion and Coexpan are launching a PLA biobased cup using recycled PLA, available in both white and high transparency. Coexpan has many years of experience with PLA, and the PLA cups can achieve line speeds output, comparable to other plastic materials, using FFS technology.

Reflex 2 technology is approved by RecyClass and is fully compatible with the European rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) recycling stream.

"Developing more sustainable, responsible and innovative packaging and formulations is our main value and area of ​​focus," explains Asimina Lulja, Oriflame packaging technologist. “The Duologi range has been designed in line with our sustainability goals. The combination of a Reflex 2 tube with a low profile cap provides a reduced carbon footprint while contributing to the circularity of plastics, as both components can be recycled."

Available in chocolate, hazelnut, strawberry, orange, and vanilla flavours, Waltz cream rolls are delicious treats to be enjoyed straight out of the container or with ice cream. The new packaging solution therefore needed to be practical, easy to stack and appeal strongly to consumers with a sweet tooth.

The UniPak series is one of the most extensive and versatile packaging ranges on the European market. It is a classic and very flexible solution for a broad variety of applications and offers a wide selection of sizes and shapes - rectangular, square, round, or oval.

Ska has never been keen on plastic packaging, but recently identified an alternative that supports its sustainability goals.

Packaging company SÜDPACK has collaborated with Arla Foods to chemically recycle maturing bags for mozzarella cheese and develop a circular business model to reduce the CO2 footprint and consumption of fossil feedstock for cheese packaging.

According to SÜDPACK, the chemical recycling process is intended to keep the plastic within the loop and recycle them back into new packaging instead of being sent to incineration.
