In the last few years, agriculture and horticulture in Iran have grown and developed. The main reason is a shift in generation among farmers and gardeners alongside the specialization that the young age has acquired in this field.

Personal care brand KanKan has upgraded its sustainable packaging, adding reusable pumps made of recycled plastic to its soap tin cans.

The company collaborated with design agencies Morrama and Two Times Elliot to combine the brand’s aesthetics with functional packaging.

The soap cans are made from tinplate instead of aluminium to avoid rust and features a lid that peels off completely to attach the pump.

Gerresheimer's most recent post-consumer recycled packaging solution was made for their partner ISDIN, a leading Spanish company in European dermo-cosmetics.

ISDIN has selected an rPET packaging solution for its most innovative Essential Cleansing product: Oil to-milk formula with 85% natural-origin ingredients.

TINE has converted the packaging for two of its Rømme products and one of its sour creams from polystyrene (PS) to PP pots with 50% recycled material, calculated using the mass balance approach, certified by the International Sustainability & Carbon (ISCC PLUS) system.

TINE’s head of sustainability Bjørn Malm said: “At TINE, we want all our packaging to be made of renewable or recycled material by 2025. Our new packaging solution for Rømme and sour cream is an important step towards our goal.”

The company derives its raw material base from cellulose, which it says is the most abundant biopolymer on earth and one AIPIA has championed as a potential basis for antimicrobial/antibacterial packaging films. The technology creates Cellulose Nano Crystals (CNCs) which provide plants with extraordinary strength and that can be utilized as a building block for the enhancement of existing materials and for the production of novel eco-friendly materials, says Melodea.

At Mars, they want to contribute to a circular economy where packaging material never becomes waste. Mars Wrigley China has taken a series of actions since 2019 to reimagine and redesign its packaging, making sure it is reusable, recyclable or compostable through innovation and advocacy. In 2023, Mars Wrigley China will make further progress in sustainable packaging innovation. We have launched our first package containing rPET in the Chinese market via a local chocolate brand, Cui Xiang Mi (CXM). The 216g canister lid of CXM is made from 100% rPET.
