The food delivery platform launched the trial on Tuesday (18 April), in partnership with Camberwell-based reusable packaging scale-up Again.

Again is building the supply chain infrastructure for reusable packaging, launching advanced packaging cleaning facilities it calls ‘CleanCells’ to efficiently sort, clean and redistribute packaging back to brands for reuse. It is doing so with grant funding from the £1.4m ‘Bring it Back’ initiative, managed by environmental charity Hubbub with funding raised from Starbucks’ levy on single-use cups.

Coca-Cola HBC’s larger multipacks (10, 12, 20 and 24 cans) are now available in a new fully enclosed carton. This follows the introduction of Graphic Packaging’s new KeelClip™ late last year, which saw smaller multipacks (four, six and eight cans) transition to an innovative paperboard solution. Both packaging types were designed and developed by Graphic Packaging; in total, transitioning to these new secondary packaging solutions will eliminate 500 tonnes annually of hard-to-recycle shrink wrap plastic.

Özdemir announces mandatory pork farming stickers
The German Bundestag has passed a law which means that pig farmers across all federal states will soon have to publicise their animal husbandry methods on pork packaging. Özdemir says that in future the same labelling rules will likely be extended to other animal products.
