Driscoll’s reaches new retailers with branded paper pack

Driscoll’s, a global market leader for fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, has expanded the launch of its branded paper pack offer into a major UK supermarket for the first time.

This launch will also see the brand feature British-grown berries in the paper pack range and the introduction of larger paper pack formats.

Driscoll’s branded berries, packed in paper packs, are now available in Asda stores across south-east England and in Booths’ stores, expanding its availability in the UK for consumers from its current listing at Wholefoods.

Sustainable bucket for innovative vegetable grower !

It’s a no brainer. The new Tommies vegetable bucket is five grams lighter than the old bucket. This new bucket from innovative vegetable grower Greenco will be sold some six million times this year. Six million times five grams equals thirty thousand kilos less plastic. But the real advancement is that only recycled plastic is used for the new packaging bucket. 100% recycling means that a staggering amount of plastic will no longer be in circulation.

McDonald’s France incorporates RFID technology for new reusable containers

Global RFID and RF security solutions leader, Checkpoint Systems, has declared its collaboration with McDonald’s France. The initiative aims to incorporate RFID technology into the reusable containers of the international fast-food giant.

This effort arises from McDonald’s pledge to remove unnecessary packaging and enhance recycling systems. Additionally, it aligns with the recent French legislation, effective since January 2023, intending to combat waste and protect biodiversity and natural resources.

Economical and sustainable overall concept for the production of recyclable spout pouches

SN Maschinenbau and SÜDPACK have entered into a developmental partnership to create an innovative overall concept for the in-house production of stand-up pouches with spouts designed for packaging pasty and liquid products. 
The concept is intended for food producers and fillers who have up to now been using pre-made spout pouches and will be presented for the first time at the international trade fair Prod&Pack in Lyon from November 21 to 23, 2023 (hall 6, booth J75).

The installation of an Ishida AirScan leak detection system at Sinnack Snacks, Germany’s only large-scale bakery to focus on tortillas, has enabled the company to automate its end-of-line packing process, while ensuring that its quality control procedures are able to keep pace with the increased throughput. The Ishida solution can inspect as many as 2,500 packs per hour, reliably detecting leaks as small as 0.5mm to ensure the integrity of the protective atmosphere packaging.

Nomadic and Greiner Packaging roll out new format for yoghurt range

The new packs coincide with Nomadic’s 25th anniversary. According to Nomadic marketing manager Bethan Miles, the new design is an “upside-down” version of its Yogurt & Oat Clusters range.
