Full-cover hotfoil stamping has now been incorporated into the decoration portfolio of Quadpack. Following the acquisition of decoration specialist Stefan Wicklein Kunststoffveredelung GmbH, the company has become one of the few expert providers worldwide of this complex technique. It endows packaging solutions with a glossy, premium finish through the seamless application of foil to cover a complete pack, offering a low-emission, solvent-free, more sustainable alternative to metallisation.

Im laufenden Gesetzgebungsverfahren zu Kritischen Rohstoffen (Critical Raw Materials Act) hat das Europäische Parlament am 14. September beschlossen, Aluminium auf die Liste der Strategischen Rohstoffe zu setzen. Zuvor hatte der Europäische Rat in seiner Position Aluminium ebenfalls einbezogen. Rob van Gils, Präsident von Aluminium Deutschland, betonte: „Es ist richtig und wichtig, dass auch das Parlament den Stellenwert würdigt, den Aluminium für den Green Deal hat. In vielen Technologien und Gütern, die für die Transformation unverzichtbar sind, stecken große Mengen Aluminium.

The world’s first paper-based laundry detergent bottle

Unilever is using a new technology to create the first-ever paper-based laundry detergent bottle, made of sustainably sourced pulp and designed to be recycled in standard paper waste streams.

A prototype is being developed for our OMO brand – which is also known as Persil, Skip and Breeze depending on where you live in the world. This is set to debut in Brazil by early 2022 and we are also piloting the same technology to create paper-based hair care bottles.

Every year, an estimated 350 million tennis balls are sold worldwide, mostly in pressurized plastic containers that are designed to preserve their bounce. As soon as a container is opened, tennis balls start to lose their pressure. Tennis balls have short lives, compared to their refillable cousins in football, basketball and soccer.
