Rethinking Packaging: Functional Solutions for a True Circular Economy

The new label apparently maximizes glass recovery and reduces waste and contamination contributing to lower energy consumption, aiming to help brands meet sustainability benchmarks.

CCL Label adds that the solution has ‘outstanding performance’ with durability and visual appeal on shelves and throughout consumer use, combined with a guarantee for easy recycling at end of life.

Last year Victoria Hattersley spoke with representatives from CCL Label and DTM Print about the importance of label and sleeve choice in packaging design, and the impact the wrong choice could have. Marika Knorr, Head of Sustainability and Communication at CCL Label, commented: “Although the label seems like a small part of the packaging it can make or break recycling […] the label or sleeve is often seen as a ‘decoration’, but the label is a functional part of the packaging and needs to be the right fit for the established sorting and recycling processes.”

Short Description
When the international beverage industry gathers at Drinktec, CCL Label will showcase the latest label and packaging solutions. The focus is on innovations that can increase recycling rates, enable reusable systems, reduce CO₂ emissions – and at the same time help brands stand out on the shelf.
