Product and pattern developer Chiara and leather goods expert Matteo formed their own studio back in 2011, called Camera60. But recently the pair have been working on this unique upcycling project. Chiara tells Metro.co.uk: ‘It was all about experimentation, making bags from unusual materials. ECOTRIA is a transparent food-contact copolyester that is independently certified as being compatible with the RIC 1 PET recycling stream. At this moment, the product is available in two grades, ECOTRIA R100, recommended for injection stretch blow moulding, and ECOZEN R200 for injection moulding or injection stretch blow moulding. Both grades are supplied as crystallised granules which require drying at conditions similar to PET before being processed.

During the current year, the Marchesini Group has continued its production activities as steadily as possible, despite the sharp slowdown in the Italian and international economy caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. CTI has invented a new suite of colour-change technologies using solvent inks, including thermochromic (temperature-activated), photochromic (sunlight-activated), glow-in-the-dark and reveal technology (which reveals a message after product consumption). Previously, solvent-ink printers were forced to use water-based inks that slowed down manufacturing operations. The new solvent-specialty inks eliminate the operational hurdles of water-based inks.
