Siegwerk, one of the leading global providers of printing inks and coatings for packaging applications and labels, today announces its successful completion of a comprehensive carbon audit. The audit consisted of two parts – the validation of the Partial Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of inks, coatings and varnishes and the verification of the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF). The PCF provides product specific carbon emissions. The CCF provides the overall emissions of Siegwerk, including emissions in the value chain.

Thermoform lines fit with robot loading to pack medical devices in a single operation

28 Jul 2024
PC Correspondent

The single-piece-flow system works well for medical devices, says the machinery company, with the thermorform equipment taking up on average 70% less space than a traditional system. This means it provides a good fit immediately after assembly and production lines, Shawpak argues, reducing work-in-progress and handling.

A vision and reject system for optical character recognition was incorporated into the scope of supply, ensuring data is compliant with strict US FDA and pharmaceutical requirements.
