The Just Bones project saw Steinarsdóttir create containers from ground animal bones, while Bioplastic Skin transforms animal skin into packaging for the same creature's meat.

Both materials dissolve in hot water and biodegrade within weeks.

Her designs are an attempt to come up with new ways of reusing the amount of waste that is produced by slaughterhouses.

"I found meat processing to be both an extremely hard and morally challenging topic to explore," Steinarsdóttir told Dezeen.

The company said thanks to the Carrefour team for supporting local, sustainable fresh produce and "for working forwards the food security of this country." 

At the same time, the company debuts its newest product packaging. Previously, UNS used brown labeling to showcase its products but now chose a more vibrant packaging. 

The work is designed to create a visual love letter to NYC, which Pepsi is very much a part of, both in the literal sense, as its headquarters are based there, but also symbolically.
