According to Anheuser-Busch, it will work with metals giant Rio Tinto on bringing low-carbon aluminum to its cans via a manufacturing process that will ultimately cut carbon emissions by 30% per can. This falls under the beverage giant’s pledge, launched in 2018, to cut carbon emissions by 25 percent across its supply chain by 2025.

The partnership with Rio Tinto will reportedly leverage a disruptive new process called ELYSIS, a type of zero-carbon aluminum smelting technology, in tandem with using renewable hydropower for manufacturing.

Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Private Limited (MDFVPL) said in a statement that it has collected and recycled/co-processed 7,284 tonnes of post-consumer used plastic waste in the country till March 2021. The overall volume includes both Multi-Layered Plastic (MLP) and Single Layered Plastic (SLP) waste.

Unicharm said its local subsidiary, PT. Uni-Charm Indonesia Tbk, launched the products packaged in fully recycled pulp earlier this month via online stores and at selected hypermarkets and supermarkets in the country in limited volumes.

"Charm Safe Night 350mm" priced at 24,400 rupiah ($1.71) and "Unicharm Mask Protect Pollution" priced at 24,900 rupiah ($1.74) are the first Unicharm group products to use 100 percent regenerated pulp packaging.

This step change on packaging will commence on a 12-week trial basis in 100 stores, with plans to roll out the changes to more products if successful. As one of Ireland’s favourite grocery items this change will have a significant impact on reducing plastic waste.
