Greiner Packaging has already been testing various recycled materials for some time to determine their suitability for the production of its cardboard-plastic combinations. Now, the company has selected certified circular polypropylene from SABIC’s TRUCIRCLETM portfolio to realize a test project for Unilever. SABIC’s material uses post-consumer mixed plastic as feedstock which is broken down into its molecular building blocks, to create virgin plastics which are then used to produce these new recyclable tubs and lids.

The NFC technology can offer several important functionalities such as tamper evidence, secure authentication, end-to-end traceability, and easy re-ordering. In the case of pharmaceutical products, it can also connect the patient to easy-to-read instructions, video/audio guides, helplines, social media support groups, and even to their doctor or clinician.

The joint effort between Dow, Liby and Fujian Kaida enabled Liby to produce its fully recyclable laundry packaging for the laundry pods. Dow’s INNATE™ TF-BOPE was selected due to its all-polyethylene (PE) structure that allows the end-product to be recycled in existing recycle streams, strong material properties offering high toughness in order to reduce leakage during e-commerce transportation, as well as excellent optics for stand-up shelf appeal and touch and feel.

The new bottle for Bunge’s Oleo de soja Soya brand represents Amcor’s entry into the edible oil market in Brazil. Amcor responded to Bunge’s industry-wide challenge to suppliers, developing a 14g container which weighs four grams less than standard bottles.
