The container, called Piranha™, is sealed using a series of raised teeth that run around the sealing flange instead of applying a layer of polyethylene or adhesive, which are typically used to seal the lid of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). The raised teeth maintain the seal's integrity even if the flange becomes contaminated by animal fat, which can interfere with closure on traditional packaging for meat, fish and poultry (MFP) products. 

Multi-food pots are a versatile food-to-go packaging solution which cater for a wide range of dishes. With a maximum of 7% plastic in the bases, Colpac’s new range of multi-food pots comfortably meets the OPRL guidelines for recyclability for 2023 and beyond.

rPET is now available in the following Berry thermoformed pots and containers ranges - CombiPac®, CombiRound®, SuperLight®, Spoon-in-lid and DeliPac as well as the company’s injection stretch blow moulded PET range.

One of PET’s major benefits is that the material is recyclable. The manufacture of containers in rPET not only cuts down on the use of virgin materials but also provides a circular solution since the rPET container itself can also be recycled where systems are available.
