James Charles—who broke into the beauty business as CoverGirl's first "Cover Boy"—has launched Painted by James Charles, a brand with innovative packaging. 

"Create Paint" is the brand's signature product. The high-pigment makeup is in tubes resembling an artist's paint tube. The vivid colors are designed to mix and apply with a brush.

Today, Jolly Rancher Gummies will also unveil murals in each of the artists' cities (NYC, LA and Miami) to bring the packaging to life and deliver a touch of playful, vibrant expression to local neighborhoods. An additional mural by Kid Wiseman will appear in Bentonville, AR on June 2. Each lively, large-scale piece of art combines the artists' unique creative approach, the culture of their community and Jolly Rancher Gummies' vivid colors and classic characters. 

In China, sluggish demand and excessive supply have weighed on prices for recycled containerboard and cartonboard again in July and forced some mills to curtail production, while producers of virgin fiber-based ivory board and fine paper have instigated hikes in a bid to halt the sharp price declines seen in recent months.

July is supposed to be the start of the traditional peak season for the packaging industry in China, with board demand usually picking up – driven by both domestic and overseas orders related to various festivals in the second half of the year.

As per consumer feedback, the new transparent sleeves are expected to enhance product visibility on store shelves and act as a driving force for potential customers to make a purchase. The programme, called ‘Maximising Resources, Minimising Waste’, is said to bring together a range of measures across seven sectors to boost the circular economy.

“We mean business when it comes to preventing waste,” said environment minister Rebecca Pow. “We’re targeting the sectors responsible for the biggest impacts on the environment, and working with business to take the right steps for better use of our precious resources.”

Plastic outnumbers sea life by six to one right now. In other words, every single square mile of ocean contains around 46,000 pieces of plastic, most of which can take anywhere between a few decades to a few centuries to completely decompose. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) estimates that more than $100 billion are lost annually in sorting and processing plastic packaging waste. In India, where the journey of plastic began in earnest in the late 1950s, the consumption of plastic packaging has grown by 200 per cent in the last 10 years.

The report also defines 10 Golden Rules that e-commerce and delivery platforms can implement to tackle the issue of packaging waste and remove barriers to making sustainability a scalable option for business in India. Specifically, the report addresses how businesses can reduce packaging waste, increase recycling rates, and foster innovation in regenerative materials, thereby contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.
