Videojet launches new, faster 3640 CO2 laser marking system to meet manufacturers’ speed demands

Wood Dale, Illinois – 21 June 2017 – Manufacturers with high volume and high speed production lines rely on their coding and marking system’s availability to keep production lines running. Unplanned downtime can lead to considerable production loss, and high-speed production lines are often limited by the coding solution available. In addition, more content per product running at the same production speeds or faster, is also becoming more and more common. The amount of information and the printing area can be restricted by the performance of the coding system.

 

In response to manufacturers’ needs for high-performance laser marking systems, Videojet Technologies, a global leader in coding, marking and printing solutions, has expanded its successful range of CO2 laser marking systems with the introduction of the new Videojet 3640 laser marking system (http://www.videojet.com/3640). This high power CO2 laser system is engineered to process complex codes at the highest speeds, with the industry’s widest mark field.

 

Videojet understands the need for high-quality codes to be marked on products especially in the pharmaceutical, tobacco and high-speed beverage markets. The new Videojet 3640 CO2 laser solution offers enhanced speeds in data processing and communication, helping customers to code and produce more products on the production line faster. The new Videojet 3640 also produces the correct finish for the required mark, producing the high quality codes you expect from a Videojet CO2 laser.

 

The 3640 has the ability to process over 1000 variable codes per minute with dot matrix and 4 lines of text in the tobacco industry, with no noticeable lag. Manufacturers can start coding their products straight away, with no need to wait for data buffering to be complete, again saving manufacturers time and money on the production line.

 

The pharmaceutical market will note that the new Videojet 3640 laser marking system boasts an impressive 600 products per minute which is typically with a 2D matrix and 5 lines of text. It also allows high-speed beverage manufacturers to mark over 80,000 bottles per hour with up to 3 lines of text. With these high-speed marking capabilities, manufacturers can code the required text onto products. This allows them to scale their production into the future, without worrying about the coding system’s limitations.

 

“We know that manufacturers’ production demands are growing, and they require high-performance lasers to meet their increasing production speeds,” said Sascha Ammesdoerfer, Laser Business Unit Manager at Videojet Technologies. “The improved speed and coverage capabilities of the new 3640 CO2 laser solution means they can now mark more text per product, offering customers a high quality CO2 laser marking solution that customers expect from Videojet.”

 

The new 3640 laser offers the widest marking field in the industry, compared to other leading 60W lasers on the market today, increasing throughput and productivity. It can now cover up to 600mm marking field width, allowing certain wide web applications to be addressed with the least amount of lasers, freeing up both space and capital to invest elsewhere. “Videojet offers a high-performance laser to meet the highest production speeds in a number of markets, including pharmaceutical, tobacco and high-speed beverage,” said Ammesdoerfer. “The vast range of CO2 laser marking systems on offer combine to deliver the marking performance customers need to help them achieve their production goals.”
