Wood Dale, Illinois – March 23, 2017 – Packaging operations often face adversity when itcomes to ink adhesion on difficult to mark substrates such as foils, films, plastics and coatedstocks. Manufacturers rely on simplicity, substrate versatility and crisp, clear codes time and time again.

With over 40 years of ink development experience, Videojet Technologies Inc., a global leader in coding, marking and printing solutions, has launched a new black ink designed to deliver excellent adhesion on a wide variety of substrates, including HDPE and PVC.

The new ink offers a number of additional benefits to manufacturers, expanding the current 8610 TIJ printer (http://www.videojet.com/8610) application reach. With an average dry time of 2 seconds on non-porous substrates, and a shelf life of 12 months, this new ink has clear advantages over other solvent TIJ ink solutions on the market.

Heidi Wright, Business Unit Manager, TIJ & TTO, at Videojet explains “This new ink is high-performing on most packaging materials that manufacturers find challenging, and works well in a number of applications that can be met with the Videojet 8610 thermal inkjet printer.”

This new TIJ ink opens up new possibilities for printing on packaging, with print resolutions up to four times greater than continuous inkjet technology. Manufacturers no longer have to compromise production throughput or the look of packaging to add high quality codes and product information.

Wright concludes, “Videojet continues to invest in Ink Research and Development, and we are very pleased that this new formula has unlocked ways to help our customers print more high-quality codes on a wider range of materials.”

This ink is for use in the Videojet 8610 TIJ printer which utilises a revolutionary, purpose-built cartridge designed to use MEK fluids. The 8610 TIJ printer is ideal for applications that require high resolution codes on hard-to-print surfaces such as foils, films, plastics and coated stocks. The 8610 combines high-resolution printing with simple operation, and is ideal for applications in food processing, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
