As the popularity of Veganuary continues to grow, we turn our attention to the many food service operators and retailers who are expanding their food-to-go ranges to cater to the trend, and offer advise on selecting the best food packaging solutions. With so many different dishes, it is essential that they have flexible, and suitable, food packaging solutions to hand. Speed is essential when packing any freshly made food, especially for cafes and delis creating vegan lunch dishes-to-go. Chilled Food to Go packs are ideal as they can be easily constructed and are suitable for a range of different products, from spinach tortilla wraps to spelt bread sandwiches. The variety of closure mechanisms ensures that each product is safely secured providing tamper proofing and can have the desired shelf life from same day to longer and extended shelf life. Film windows and rPET[1] lids across the product range enables customers to view the freshness of the ingredients within. Many vegan favourites, such as salads or vegan sushi are loose items, requiring a completely alternate style of packaging, however the same principles – efficient, fresh and ease of use – still apply. A paperboard base and rPET[1] lid is the ideal combination, such as our Fuzione range, enabling food service operators the ability to pack food quickly, while the clear anti-mist lids which are recyclable give customers the optimum visibility they crave. The paperboard base is recyclable and is durable and resilient to absorption from dressings and sauces. Healthy living and being environmentally aware come hand-in-hand. Many customers will be keen to purchase products which are easily disposed of in a simple, sustainable way. Today, there is a myriad of recyclable packaging on the market, but food service operators need to keep it simple and look for product solutions where the entire pack can be disposed of through recycling and compositing waste streams as a single unit, such as our Zest™ -Eco-Packaging range of products.
