Item Products, the UK’s leading designer and producer of a unique range of components for the packaging industry, has recently announced a new and exclusive UK partnership with finishing specialists, LIASA. The Spanish firm manufactures cords, ropes and braids in a variety of finishes that are perfect for luxury packaging applications such as luxury boxes and high-end bags. The move complements Item’s plans to expand their product portfolio.

Operating from a 15,000m² factory north of the Spanish port of Tarrogona, LIASA are a fully integrated manufacturer, converting natural fibre raw materials into finished product. Having not had any previous sales & marketing representation in the UK, the firm is looking forward to benefitting from the partnership and the promotion of their product
range.

“The fit with LIASA is perfect,” commented Item’s Julian Cook. “And as Europe’s largest supplier of finishing materials, they can provide the widest range of products, at a quality standard and at a competitive price. This, plus excellent lead times of less than week - depending on order size - will help give us the edge over the competition. For both parties this is very much a long term opportunity.”

Item will be using the forthcoming Luxury Packaging exhibition at London’s Olympia on 12 - 13 Sep to launch the partnership. On stand will be a full range of LIASA’s products, plus a selection of samples to give away. Alongside key personnel from Item Products, representatives from the Spanish firm will also be on hand throughout the event.

In addition, Item will be showcasing their standard range of products at the show, including carry handles for cartons, connecting clips for corrugated board, hooks, studs and rivets for merchandising units, wheels and stabilisers for big or heavy packs and garment rails for wardrobe boxes. The company will also be promoting their stackable tray range, which includes the recently launched transparent tray, Clear Stack™. Item Products is exhibiting on stand G30.
