while shipping beers, it is extremely important to do proper packaging. many times, the beer box, which arrives at the post office, comes in a broken condition. hence, the entire box goes in the landfill. if the bottles are broken, there is no way to keep the beer safe and drinkable. therefore, while packing the beer bottles for shipping, many things have to be taken into consideration. generally, most of the brewery, packs the beer bottles in two layers of boxes in order to keep them safe while loading and unloading. however, mere double layer of the boxes is not sufficient to keep the beer bottles safe. a pile of bottles can smack at each other at every throw and bounce of the box while shipping. this may lead to breaking the bottles and leakages. if a box arrive in such a condition, it becomes really hard even to save the few leftover unbroken bottles. as a result, the entire package goes in the trash. this article is not to offend brewery but to offer useful tips for packing beers for shipping. when the beer bottles have to be shipped through mail, they must be packaged carefully. preferably, one should use cardboard bottle shippers or styrofoam, which are easily available online at uline.com and through packaging supply companies. if those are not feasible options, then one can use newspaper filler, bubble wrap, multiple boxes, packaging peanuts, and whatever else will cushion the beer bottles from each other and work as a shock absorber for the external throws and bounces. this trading briefing at ratebeer.com has a great segment on how to package the beer bottles for shipping. source of information httpseattlebeernews.com200911hownottopackagebeerforshipping
