TekniPlex to showcase lineup of PFAS-free dip tubes for fragrances

While they are designed to match the ‘sleek, luxurious look’ of glass packaging, the CRYSTELLE dip tubes are reportedly made of PFAS-free, food-grade, and shatterproof materials. Intending to combine the strength and convenience of plastic with the shelf appeal of glass, TekniPlex aims to prevent any tube breakage or product contamination while unlocking environmental benefits.

Apparently, the tubes can be integrated seamlessly into automated assembly processes. Their ‘high-tolerance’ production is set to yield consistent dimensional stability and enable customization from customer to customer.

TekniPlex will also showcase various products from its ProTecSeals Recyclable Liners portfolio. These are believed to be ‘far more widely recyclable’ than conventional polystyrene solutions, among other beneficial properties.

For example, the ePress Seal – described as the ‘first and only’ pressure-sensitive seal to make use of expanded polyethylene – is thought to be more flexible and resilient than polystyrene foam. As such, it is recommended to improve resistance, help maintain a pack’s shape, and maintain longer-lasting gasketing properties.

Since it is also designed to be lightweight and easy to remove, TekniPlex recommends its use in packaging for dry foods, herbs and spices, and nutritional supplements.

Additionally, TekniPlex will display a PE Foam version of its ProTecSeals lineup. Following its RecyClass approval for the HDPE stream, it is intended for products and jars containing face and body creams, vitamins, supplements, protein powders, peanut butter, and more.

TekniPlex will display its products at Stand S50 from 28th – 29th January.

“Paris Packaging Week is the ideal event to debut our latest sophisticated fragrance packaging solutions – especially one as elegant and market-conscious as the new CRYSTELLE dip tubes,” said Aurélie Emond, vice president of Sales, Integrated Performance Solutions for TekniPlex Consumer Products. “We’re also excited to highlight the most recent RecyClass approval for our growing ProTecSeals Recyclable Liners portfolio.

“Both solutions exemplify our dedication to developing new packaging solutions that help our customers not only stand out but set new benchmarks in their markets, setting them apart through innovative features that appeal to consumers across key decision-making elements like sustainability, aesthetics and uncompromising performance.”

Other recent developments from the personal care industry include Terre d’Oc’s adoption of Coverpla’s refillable bottle made of biobased resin. Paired with a biodegradable cap, the new eaux de parfum packaging hopes to improve the brand’s carbon impact and promote recycled materials and waste recycling.

Berry Global has revealed an ‘easy-squeeze’ LDPE ophthalmic bottle for preservative-free products like eye treatments. The bottle has been qualified for use with Aptar Pharma’s Ophthalmic Squeeze Dispenser (OSD) and is designed for flow control to support precise drop dispensing.

Meanwhile, TekniPlex Healthcare now offers biobased PVC compounds for medical plastics applications. Compared with conventional PVC resins and plasticizers, the compounds are believed to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% and approximately 60%, respectively.
