TUBEX GmbH has developed an aluminium aerosol can called Purity. This can is manufactured without any ink or lacquer on the inside or outside. The manufacturing process has been altered in such a way to completely forego the lacquering. As a result there is less CO2 emissions, less use of energy, solvent and resources. There is no alteration of the slug specs but displays advanced properties i.e. higher burst pressure. Inside and outside lacquer was required for the shaping process even for non-critical filling products. This innovative technology was honored with World Star Packaging Awards 2017 in sustainable packaging category at Interpack 2017. This can manufacturing process help to put the focus on sustainability and at the same time, enhanced the mechanical properties of this can, such as burst pressure.
