Spring Gully Foods chooses Orora’s new glass jars

By PC Correspondent on Tue, 12/24/2024 - 08:57

For Spring Gully Foods, which had been importing jars from overseas, making the switch to Australian-made glass jars is a win.

“We’re delighted with the Orora jars. As a South Australian company ourselves, we’re pleased that we now use jars that are also produced locally,” said Tegan Hack, Spring Gully Foods.

“The colour of Orora’s glass jars is an improvement on the previous ones and our products really stand out – the gherkins really pop in the jar.”

Orora's Greg Savage, senior vice president Asia Pacific, said that the new category was an exciting step forward for the company which is producing the jars at its Gawler facility in South Australia.

“This opportunity has been some time in the making and we’re very pleased to see it come to fruition and to now see Orora food jars on shelves,” Savage said

“To provide a locally manufactured food jar solution that addresses category needs and exceeds customer expectations is a victory for glass container manufacturing in Australia.”

“It’s also a great reflection of our capability and the great work our team has done to bring this to life. Beverage bottles are our core business, but we remain focused on innovation and exploring how we can expand our offering and deliver for our customers.”

Savage noted that while Orora has four jar sizes currently available (500ml, 375ml, 300ml and 250ml) it is in discussion with potential customers about creating additional food jar solutions.

Spring Gully’s Sweet Spiced Gherkin Rounds in Orora jars are now available in supermarkets across Australia.
