Sonoco Develops New Plastic Container Plant In Ohio

In a statement, the usbased company said that it will build its plant by the second half of 2012. According to sonoco&rsquos vice president rodger fuller, the company will build a 120,000plus square foot plant and install several pet injection stretch blowmolding and injection molding lines to produce packaging and components for personal products. Total cost of the plant building and equipment is projected to be approximately 15m and the operation will employ approximately 60 new workers. &lsquolingering unemployement&rsquo this latest development is positive news for the firm.

 Last month, sonoco reported a 9.4 drop in its secondquarter earnings adding that a lack of consumer spending may have impacted on its consumer markets. In a statement, the firm said that lingering unemployment, along with higher grocery and energy prices, had clearly impacted domestic consumer spending during the first half of 2011. &lsquobeauty and home care&rsquo the company said that its new plant is being developed to produce containers and components for personal care products for mast global, the sourcing and logistics division of beauty and home care firm limited brands. &ldquolimited

We look forward to expanding our offering through this new stateoftheart facility and hope to further grow this operation in the future.
