kochi, dec 15  the printing and packaging industry can play a significant role in achieving the make in india vision of prime minister, c.p.paul, general secretary, indian printing packing & allied machinery manufacturers association ipama has said.the 16,000million printing and packing industry, one of the largest among worldwide, is primarily dominated by sme and msme sector. however, the need of the hour is to bring the entire industry under one common platform, he said adding that the first step in this direction is the flagship event print pack india 2015 which will be a blue print of make in india.he also called upon the printing and graphic fraternity in kerala to participate in the 12th edition on print pack india trade expo scheduled to be held from february 11 to 15, 2015 at greater noida expo mart.with the advent of digital technology in prepress and postpress, he said india will be one of the leading countries having huge market and resources.according to shafiq ahamad, joint secretary &ndash east, ipama, the sector has been rated as the world&rsquos second largest industry with an annual growth rate of 1015 per cent. of the 700 players in the packaging industry business, 95 per cent represent sme sector. southern states like kerala, tamil nadu, karnataka are emerging as the fastest growing printing hubs with the availability of latest and reliable printing technologies.
