Paptic Ltd, a rapidly growing company specializing in wood fibre-based packaging, is making a significant move into the hygiene and feminine care packaging sectors. The company is introducing an innovative, wood fibre-based material designed to meet the increasing demand for sustainable packaging solutions that can replace traditional plastics. This new material is fully recyclable with paper and cardboard while providing a soft, user-friendly experience.

“We’ve developed a material that not only boosts sustainability but also enhances functional performance,” says Alexandros Skouras, Hygiene Segment Director at Paptic. “It offers a renewable and recyclable alternative to plastics, ideal for personal care products where comfort is crucial.”

Recognized by the Single-Use Plastic Directive (SUP) as a sustainable alternative, Paptic® materials are crafted from renewable wood fibres and are fully recyclable. They support the circular economy and can be processed on existing plastic converting lines, allowing manufacturers to shift towards sustainable packaging with minimal effort. The material is lightweight, heat-sealable, and available with FSC® certification, reinforcing Paptic’s commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing. “Our R&D is focused on creating recyclable, wood fibre-based materials that help reduce reliance on plastics while promoting circularity by keeping materials in use for multiple life cycles,” Skouras adds. In Europe, fibre-based packaging materials already have an impressive 84% collection rate, with all collected fibres used in new solutions.

Paptic’s expansion into the hygiene and feminine care markets marks a crucial step towards reducing plastic waste, offering manufacturers and consumers a sustainable, high-performance alternative.
