west monroe, la. knoe 8 news graphic packaging is still refusing to do interviews, but in a brief statement representatives from the corporate office in georgia say they&39re evaluating the situation and are working to resolve the safety citations they received from osha.&quotthe safety of our employees at graphics packaging international is our top priority. we have been cooperating with osha fully during their investigation and we remain committed in working proactively and cooperatively to resolve any safety concerns,&quot kelly mullins, graphic packaging international director of human resources said.osha began investigating the west monroe facility after an employee was injured by a moving printing press in june of this year. osha employees say from there, investigators found serious safety violations.&quotfor exposing workers to machine hazards, falling to guard all the nit points or pinch points on large printing presses and failing to implement lock out, tag out procedures to shut down the equipment properly, and to protect the workers during maintenance and repair. they were cited a 127,000 for this,&quot osha media representative juan rodriguez said.for minor violations, they were find an additional 2,000. in total, graphic packaging international is looking at a fine of about 129,000. they have 15 business days, from the initial dec. 22 notice, to respond to the citations.the company can either pay the fine or contest the violations.&quotpart of the agreement is to fix all the issues and they will be inspected by osha inspectors,&quot rodriguez said.representatives with osha say workers should know their rights. and if you have any questions about your rights or would like to report a safety concern, contact them immediately.&nbsp
