packaging solutions provider multivac has launched a packaging solution r 900 for filling water beakers for the first time.the solution has been designed for the portion packing of drinking water and has the capacity to produce up to 160 beakers per minute.readyfilled beakers helps both in speeding up the work of cabin personnel and reducing amount of empty packaging.the portion beakers come with a thermoformed easyopen corner which helps customers to open the beverages easily. this helps in giving users a better grip of the upper web so that they can be readily pulled off.apart from packaging liquids, the beakers are also wellsuited for packaging products with a pastelike consistency like yogurt in portion pots.the machine produces 160 drinking beakers per minute with volumes ranging from 150 to 200 millilitres. the beakers run through the line in five tracks and two rows.it sports an hmi 2.0 control unit that claims to regulate the multivac integrated water filler so precisely that the fill level only deviates by a maximum of 1 from the target quantity.the solutions jumbo film for the lower web helps in reducing downtime due to film changes.the machine produces clean cutting edges and is used for the complete cutting process for separating the portion pots.the r 900 uses the kps 08 complete cutter that is equipped with integrated trim lattice cutting to ensure that the pack trim falls through a trim grid into a container at the end of the line.components like a boxing unit or direct web printers can be added to the equipment for the additional processing of the beakers.the solution complies with the strict hygiene requirements and has been designed in accordance with the multivac hygienic design and is very accessible for servicing and cleaning work.the stainless steel surfaces are dirtrepellant and can be cleaned easily. even the water filler can be cleaned without separating individual parts.the chances of microbes getting into the drinks is also reduced as the film for the drinking beakers is disinfected with uvc radiation.image multivacs packaging solution, r 900 for filling water beakers can produce up to 160 beakers per minute. photo courtesy of multivac.source httpwww.packagingbusinessreview.comnewsmultivacdevelopssolutionforpackaging…
