  • High-Performance Single-Pass Technology for Metal Decorating
  • Metal-Specific Design for Metal Printing
  • Modular Line Configuration

Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint and Neos have signed a letter of intent to jointly develop a high-speed digital printing solution for metal decoration, named MetJET PRO. This collaboration combines Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint's renowned sheet handling and inline coating solutions with Neos' advanced single-pass inkjet technology, offering a highly productive digital metal printing system with minimal changeover times. MetJET PRO is set to expand the MetJET product family with its innovative features.

The modular systems developed by the two companies are designed to cater to a wide range of metal printing applications, such as the production of 3-piece cans, crown caps, and closures. Building on the success of the MetJET ONE, the MetJET PRO integrates proven solutions for sheet handling and printing. The result is a digital metal decoration line capable of producing 2,500 sheets per hour using inks that comply with European regulations for indirect food contact.

A sophisticated camera system, paired with Neos software, ensures precise sheet identification, accurate drop positioning, and meticulous register and print quality control, thereby maximizing reliability in the digital metal printing process.

"The MetJET PRO is the ideal solution for our customers with the highest demands on performance and flexibility," said Samuel Teufel, Product Manager at Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint. "Positioned perfectly between the MetJET ONE and MetalStar 4, the MetJET PRO leaves nothing to be desired in terms of performance, flexibility, and quality."

Neos, an innovative Italian company specializing in inkjet printing for industrial applications, designs and develops digital inkjet printers for various production areas, including metal printing. Both companies are confident that with the finalization of their cooperation, a first joint pilot project can soon be initiated, marking a significant milestone in digital metal decoration technology.
