Innovia Films, a leading material science pioneer and a major producer of BOPP films, has announced the launch of Rayoface™ AQBHA, a high-performance, high-gloss film designed specifically for pressure-sensitive labelling (PSL) applications. This newly developed two-sided coated cavitated film is engineered to meet the demands of hot melt coating and other two-sided coating requirements.

Rayoface™ AQBHA is a 58-micron thick polypropylene (PP) film that offers exceptional printability, featuring a printable top-coating and an adhesive-receptive coated surface on the reverse side. This unique design provides excellent anti-curl and migration properties when used with hot melt adhesives.

The film boasts impressive moisture resistance and cold temperature performance, making it ideal for applications in both fridge and freezer environments. “As more SKUs transition to polypropylene containers, having a label made from the same material aligns with design-for-recycling criteria for filmic face stocks,” stated Lucija Kralj, Business Unit Director for Labels EMEA.

Extensive hot melt barrier testing has shown that Rayoface™ AQBHA remains flat throughout the testing period, providing a reliable solution to prevent any face stock material issues associated with hot melt coatings in PSL applications.
