finlay flowers have developed a revolutionary packaging with the help of which flowers can now be sent without water. these changes have been made with some modifications in the packaging they are packaged. on valentine&rsquos day, finlay flowers sent across 17,000 individual bouquets of dozen red roses to m&amps customers throughout the uk. these bouquets were sent in modified atmosphere packaging. there was not a single drop of water in sight. this technology has been introduced in the market for the first time. for the whole industry, it is for the first time that blooms has sent flowers sealed in a map bag. after sealing the package, carbon dioxide levels increase and oxygen levels in the bag decrease naturally. this modification in the atmosphere lessens the respiration rate of the flowers. this results in reducing water demand and extending the storage period. sending homedelivery flowers packaged in map results in saving water, maintains flower quality for longer, reducing packaging, and optimizes logistics, both in terms of improved pallet fills and weight reduction, as well. the statistics, which are associated with this modification in packaging, are really impressive. for the 2011&rsquos valentine&rsquos day, 11,900 litres of water were saved. this is similar to 47,600 cups of tea. in simple words, 5 cups a day for 26 years. additionally, exclusion of water from the delivery chain lessened overall transport weight by around 11.9 tonnes. the flat packaging also allowed the maximum use and an increase in palletfill. it allowed logistics of 120 boxes compare to 90 boxes for conventional waterpacks, resulting in a 25 spacesaving, reducing lorry journeys. along with eliminating water damage, due to this revolutionary packaging, the roses looked better and lasted longer. even the complaints were down by 40. with this invention clearly offering advantages to product quality, the environment as well as logistics, finlay flowers are now trying to include more and more flower categories which can successfully use map. for you, this all means that you can feel more especially pleased with yourself when you &lsquosay it with flowers&rsquo to that special person in your life. source of information httpproducerexchange.marksandspencer.comnewspioneeringpackaginghomedeliveryflowers
