though, sometimes packaging comes in an excessive amount, it is not going away at all. it beautifies the presentation of products, as well as protects it. packaging also gives an assurance to consumer of untampered quality. however, despite the dismay of environmentalists, much of packaging still ends up in landfills after having completed this narrow purpose. designer aaron mickelson, who is a fresh graduate from the pratt institute located in new york, thinks that this is one of those areas of life where there doesn&rsquot inevitably require to be a tradeoff. to show it, he&rsquos been working very hard on a concept of &ldquothe disappearing package&rdquo. in this concept, he shows with a simple redesign, how much of this excessive rubbish can be with decreased, and in few cases eliminated completely. his proposal is based on taking benefit of how a product can be used to cut down the amount of packaging. for example, a bar of soap, which melts in water, can be packaged in watersoluble plastic which simply dissolves in the shower. mickelson has tried this concept on five common products. these include household goods like glad garbage bags, twining&rsquos tea, and tide laundry detergent. these products were chosen on the basis of their ubiquitousness and the reality that they would offer him to try the process in every color possible. he told wired that he has spent the largest amount of his research time on searching the processes and materials that would make his concept a reality. a small manufacturer provided the soluble inks. this manufacturer doesn&rsquot still have them in broad distribution, while the plastic and paper were more easily available. the ink and paper are nontoxic and can be securely washed down the drain. despite the fact that he understands that existing materials aren&rsquot sufficient to eliminate packaging completely, the project has demonstrated that by just going outsidethebox, you&rsquoll require a total lot less of it. source of information httpwww.smartplanet.comblogbulletindesignerinventspackagingthat8216disappea…
