Wolfertschwenden, 28 November 2018 - From 6 to 8 February 2019, MULTIVAC will be presenting itself at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2019 as a holistic solution provider for the food industry. In addition to packaging solutions that contribute to extending the shelf life of fresh products, another focal point of the fair is the presentation of sustainable packaging concepts as well as attractive labeling solutions for fruit and vegetables, snacks and fresh-cut products of all kinds.

The exhibits include the G 700 tray sealer, which offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of processing different tray formats and high output with maximum profitability. Depending on the products to be packaged, tray packaging with and without atmospheric exchange can be produced on the G 700. At the FRUIT LOGISTICA, the traysealer will be on display with a perforator for the production of FreshSAFE packs for blueberries. This makes it possible to perforate standard top film during the packaging process, creating an equilibrium atmosphere (EMAP) inside the package. As a result, the packaged fruits remain fresh for longer periods without the use of preservatives. It processes PLA trays made from renewable raw materials.

The labeling of the packs is carried out by a conveyor belt labeller L 310, which applies a D label to the packs. This type of labeling offers a wide range of possibilities with regard to the design of different packs and thus contributes significantly to increasing the attractiveness at the POS.

From its broad portfolio of thermoforming packaging machines, MULTIVAC is showing the R 085 e-concept for packaging treated vegetables in soft foil packs. The packaging of beetroot is presented as an example. The compact machine is an economical entry-level solution for craft businesses and small processors, as well as for companies that produce product-appropriate packaging for a wide variety of foods in smaller batches. The R 085 can be used flexibly in the production room because it can be operated without water and compressed air and its positioning is not linked to any connections.

In addition, MULTIVAC will showcase sustainable packaging solutions at the fair, which contribute to reduced packaging consumption and a higher recyclability. One example is MULTIVAC PaperBoard - a packaging concept that enables the production of MAP and skin packs from paper fiber-based materials on thermoforming packaging machines such as tray sealers. The carrier material can be processed either as a roll product or as a blank. Also prefabricated trays are used. All materials can be sorted by the end user sorted and lead the paper carriers the recycling cycle.
