cardia bioplastics has announced that its biohybrid technology has been chosen by a leading german consumer goods company for their product packaging.while cardia did not reveal the name of the company owing to commercial reason, it said that its services were chosen by the company following four years of rigorous quality and performance testing.cardia said that its cardia biohybrid technology was validated following a stringent approval process for high performance rigid packaging applications which included quality, performance, price, environmental claims, intellectual property position and freedom to operate.the unnamed company has currently placed initial container orders.speaking about the deal, cardia bioplastics managing director frank glatz said &quotcollaborating with this wellknown german consumer goods company presented an exciting opportunity to develop high performance packaging with lower environmental impact. in addition to offering a product with beneficial environmental profile and full food safety compliance, a key criterion for success was in delivering superior packaging performance through the entire product life cycle.&quotin addition to meeting all product performance criteria, the tests confirmed that our biohybrid technology enhanced the shelf life of the packaged product due to its good gas barrier properties. this is a real value add outcome for our customer.&quotaustraliabased sustainable resins manufacturer and marketer cardia bioplastics claims that its biohybrid and compostable resins delivers packaging and plastics products with a lower carbon footprint.while headquartered in australia, the company has offices in europe and the americas and a network of leading distributors across australia, the americas, europe and asia.&nbsp
