finch&rsquos beer, a chicagobased craft brewer, has partnered with global beverage can maker rexam to package its beer lineup in rexam&rsquos 16 oz. cans.secret stache stout, hardcore chimera, finch&39s pale ale and nuclear winter beers from finch&39s stable are already available in rexam cans while sobek &amp set, fascist pig and threadless beers will be launched soon, followed by wet hot american wheat this summer.finch&39s beer founder ben finch said &quotwe are committed to locally sourcing as many materials as possible, including our tall boy cans which are now printed right here in chicago.&quotit just makes sense for us since the can plant is so close to both our facilities here in chicago. this relationship delivers outstanding value to our business and helps us ensure we are providing our unique craft beers to our customers in a greatlooking package.&quotfinch&39s, which started the transition in the middle of 2014, is planning to have all eight of its labels, along with two additional new labels, in rexam cans by mid2015.commenting on the partnership with finch&39s, rexam bcna sector director claude marbach said &quotwe are pleased to establish a relationship with this fastgrowing local brewery which allows us to provide the perfect package for its craft beers.&quotour cans help attract attention on store shelves, maintain beverage integrity and deliver superior recycling, filling, distribution and retail display economics that will help finch&39s continue to build its brand and business.&quotfinch prefers cans to package products as aluminum cans block out all light and oxygen which helps preserve the beer&39s taste and freshness for a longer duration. they are also lightweight, which can reduce shipping costs and are considered to be durable and portable.cans are also the most sustainable beverage package in the world as they can be recycled, converted to cans again and back on retail shelves within 60 days. they are also recycled at double the rate of any other package option.&nbsp
