European Pet Bottle Recycling Encouraged Through Joint Venture

In atlanta, cocacola enterprises cce declared plans of investing &euro6.5 million, which is 8.4 million in us dollars, with french packaging company appe as a joint venture, which is the spanish firm lsb division. A news release from cce stated that the investment was for permitting the pet facility of appe in beaune, france, to encourage pet recycledcontent production at the plant with up to 70 percent, which is 48,000 metric tons of pet a year from about 28,000 metric tons a year. The joint venture also includes advanced recycling technologies&rsquo research and development, according to cce, which the recycling facility can utilize. The two companies are jointly investing about &euro9 million on the plan, which is 11.6 million us dollars. It includes the new ssp solidstate polycondensation tower installation at the plant in beaune,

which was provided by bühler group of switzerland. Cce reported that it offers advanced recycling technology through a footprint smaller than current equipment used. It will also allow cce and appe for examining new methods of recycling. The new joint venture is stated by cce as the latest move taken by appe for investing and enhancing its business of recycling plastics. In 2012, there was also an investment of &euro10 million from the company for new equipment that enhanced the site to its present capability. The appe general manager, martin hargreaves, proudly stated that they are thrilled to work with cce as their longterm partner for this enthusiastic and pioneering enterprise. They have repeatedly highlighted the significance of longterm investment and endmarket support for complete realization of pet recycling potential. It is highly motivating that cce shares the same vision and commitment, while it is eager to perform a vital role in play such a pivotal role in assisting to provide assurance of a successful longterm future for recycled pet.

The european cocacola has launched two recycling projects and this is one of the initiatives. Cce stated that both the projects focus on cultivating recycling behavior and infrastructure to support the plan of turning into a zero carbon and waste company. A research program will also include the investment of cce along with the university of exeter in the uk.
