Engel Used Machinery is headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, in what Leopold Praher (pictured), the business’ general manager, calls the largest and fastest growing market (Eastern Europe) for pre-owned injection moulding machines.
Praher has been with Engel for more than 30 years, most recently as sales manager Elast/LIM with responsibility for the company’s global elastomer and thermoset business. He will initially continue in that role also, until a successor is appointed.
Discussing the new business, Engel Group’s chief sales officer Dr Christoph Steger, said: “In some cases, a second-hand production cell is the only option. We want to offer our customers a high-quality solution for this requirement, too, with Engel’s customary consulting expertise and outstanding service.”
The repurchased injection moulding machines and robots are reconditioned in-house. Engel has created the capacities required for this at its production plants in Austria and the Czech Republic.
