Heinz appointed lpf flexible packaging to supply the high barrier lidding required for its new family fridge pack, due to its superior quality, specification and easypeel properties. Lpf flexible packaging created an 80mm high barrier, reelfed lid made from a transparent threelayer structure with glass coated polyester, nylon and special highperformance sealable and peelable cast polypropylene, created by, wentus in germany. The chosen specification delivers multiple benefits, including tamper evidence and an excellent oxygen barrier. It has a longer shelflife of up to fifteen months and is retortable up to 131oc. Maximum seal performance ensures the product does not leak and that its &lsquoeasypeel&rsquo properties ensure easeofuse by the consumer.
