cookie giant files lawsuit against patent violation

kraft foods global brands llc is taking a legalized action against the kellogg company&39s north american unit, for what it claims is offensive patent use. kraft foods global brands llc is a division of mondolez international. according to the claim of kraft, kellogg&39s keebler sandies cookies is offered in resealable packaging that very closely looks alike its own &lsquosnack &lsquon seal&39 innovation. thus, a lawsuit was filed on 16 january 2013, and the kellogg company is accused of patent infringement. in the lawsuit, kraft foods global brands mentioned its terms including a reimbursement payment and a ban to be put in place, prohibiting potential kellogg patent infringements in this regard. the lawsuit claims that kellogg violated a decadeold patent for kraft&39s &lsquoresealable food container&39, which is also known as &lsquosnack &lsquon seal&39. the lawsuit also states that global brands has all rights of recovery that includes the right to regain damages for past violation. in 2005, kraft&39s &lsquosnack &lsquon seal&39 packaging first time appeared on the shelves of supermarket. it introduced kraft&39s nabisco chewy chips ahoy brand. in 2006, three newtons cookies range boast it, and in the following year, it was clubbed up with oreo cookies for the first time. snack &lsquon seal was introduced in response to customer complaints that earlier types of cookie packaging usually tore, when opened, and were not easy to open in the first place. keebler is the leading us cookie range and it dates back to the mid1800s. keebler&rsquos sandies are shortbread cookies that are sold under the slogan &lsquouncommonly made uncommonly good.&39 in associated news, right now, there&39s one more food packagingbased lawsuit in progress. this involves h.j heinz which, according to a creator, violated patent protection when it developed and introduced its &lsquodip &amp squeeze&39 packaging. the inventor states he posses the patent on food packaging that is capable of facilitating both dipping as well as squeezing actions, as does dip &amp squeeze. however, an accusation is strongly denied by heinz. source of information httpwww.packagingint.comnewskraftcookiepackagingpatentlawsuit.html
