Bradman Lake Group sets a new benchmark for end load cartoners

In addition to the standard machine features such as main servo drive, quick change-over parts and strong hygienic construction, the installed SL903 end load cartoner includes unique options for the Russian market. The standard carton magazine has been upgraded by a low-level extended motorised version permitting carton blanks to be loaded at a low working height of less than one meter. Carton blanks are then lifted via a motorised elevator and delivered at the required angle to the hopper gate.

This project demonstrated Bradman Lake’s innovative approach to the loading problem of stacked unstable products. Instead of stack tampering on the machine entry, a new dynamic overhead product confiner is positioned over the transfer area to provide additional top control as the product is loaded into the carton. The confining system, driven in synchronisation with the cartoner, incorporates spring-loaded paddles to gently condition each product collation while it is being loaded into the open ends of the carton. The height of the confiner is automatically adjustable to suit a wide range of product collations. This approach ensures the product is conditioned precisely in the right place and at the right time.

The new installation sets a new benchmark for end load cartoning equipment confirming Bradman Lake’s leading position on Russian cartoning market successfully handled over 30 years.
