almac is a provider of contract services for global biotech and pharmaceutical markets. almac has expanded its healthcare and medicines products regulatory agencyu.s. food and drug administrationapproved u.k. commercial packaging service by acquiring a noack n 623 blister packaging line from romaco. this acquisition is aimed at meeting increasing client demands for improved flexibility that is related to multiunit blister formats and larger blister sizes, in addition to enhanced environmental protection, particularly for humidity control and requirement for nonpermeability. the flexible and cgmpcompliant technology can be customized to process both coldform and thermoform materials, with the maximum blister sizes of 220 mm x 155 mm. the line&39s filling inspection, ejection station and automatic feeding system along with the short setup times facilitates increased productivity that processes over 25,000 blisters in an hour, including multiproduct blisters. geoff sloan, vp of manufacturing operations said that blister dosage and size formats are becoming more and more complex. along with this, product handling for inventive new molecules frequently requires enhanced environmental controls. sloan further said that, through almac&rsquos pharmaceutical services business unit, this investment allows almac to offer this extra flexibility. sloan said that, through this new acquisition, which is coupled with the almac&rsquos entry in the us commercial packaging market, almac will keep expanding its flexibility and capabilities to meet its client&rsquos requirements. source of information httphealthcarepackaging.comcontractpackagingcontractpackagingnewstrendsblisterpackaginglinehelpsalmacexpandcontract
