In a departure from traditional packaging, which involves placing the scoop spoon inside the can of formula, this solution incorporates a plastic spoon securely sealed within the over-lid, with a transparent die-cut lid provided by Chadwicks. The over-lid and scoop are injection-molded by Tekplas, and all the components of the packaging including the aluminum can, over-lid, scoop, and die-cut lid, are fully recyclable.

Peter Goodwin, managing director of co-cre8, and James Capel, the chairman, helped establish the UK's first nationwide paper cup collection and recycling service in 2014.

Says Peter: “Our pioneering service kick-started paper cup recycling in 2014 yet, despite the media furore and consumer outrage over the billions of paper cups that are disposed of each year, still less than 1% of all cups are currently being recycled in the UK after use.

Between at least November 2021 and the date of the undertaking, MOO claimed that its yoghurt tubs were made from ‘100% ocean plastic’, which the ACCC was concerned gave the impression they were made from plastic waste collected directly from the ocean, when this was not the case.

While MOO included disclaimers on the top and back of the packaging, the ACCC considered they were insufficient to overcome the headline representation of ‘100% ocean plastic’.

The company has introduced refillable milk bottles made from 100% polypropylene, a move aimed at reducing carbon emissions and minimizing single-use plastic waste.

While glass is traditionally considered the standard material for refillable milk bottles due to its cost-effectiveness and ease of sterilization, glass bottles are heavy and prone to breakage.

Abel & Cole’s Club Zero Refillable Milk bottles offer a sustainable alternative that overcomes these challenges.
