Coperion has commenced operations at its Recycling Innovation Center in Niederbiegen near Weingarten, Germany. This cutting-edge facility serves as an advanced test center for optimizing and implementing plastics recycling applications. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the center enables comprehensive testing across various recycling process steps, covering material handling, extrusion, pelletizing, compounding, material postprocessing, and deodorization. The facility features customizable, fully functional recycling systems to meet specific recyclate production requirements.

Finland and Italy have called on governments preparing positions on the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) to oppose tough restrictions on single-use packaging, along with proposed targets for reuse, in a joint statement seen by Euronews which was circulated this week among diplomats.

Starting from 1 November, Sainsburys is thought to be the first major supermarket to offer crownless pineapples, which are traditional pineapples with the green leaves (the crown) removed. The crowns will be removed from standard size pineapples but large pineapples will still have their crowns left on.
