The cap remains attached to the spout, helping to reduce litter and improve recyclability. It is compatible with Gualapack's spouted pouch fillers, which are widely used across the region, and can be implemented on both new and existing filling lines through the use of a Cap Kit.

The Tethered Cap is available in polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), and works with hot-fill, cold-fill, and retort applications. It fits all Gualapack pouches with an 8.6mm spout diameter, and comes in two versions: the Standard Cap and the Mood Cap.

Leipzig-based chocolate start-up nucao is shaking up the chocolate market. Founded in 2016, the company is currently leading the way when it comes to sustainable chocolate. nucao is the first chocolate manufacturer in the market to embrace primary packaging made from paper and has been using it for its chocolate products “nucao fruits” and “nucao nuts” since the end of 2022.

French suncare brand Hei Poa offers products enriched with Monoi from Tahiti, evoking the Polynesian islands. For the brand’s first facial stick product, it worked with Quadpack to produce an aesthetically stunning pack, that minimised the amount of plastic and was easy to apply on the face. Launched in record time for the summer season, Stick Solaire Visage SPF50+ now comes beautifully packaged in Quadpack’s refillable, 15g Infinite Panstick.

Keystone Folding Box Co., a designer and manufacturer of paperboard packaging solutions, has introduced a new paperboard blister wallet with push-through opening functionality. Ideal for hard tablets, the company’s Push-Pak™ allows intuitive push-through dosage access and a tighter, more condensed blister arrangement that reduces the package’s overall size. The blister wallet also provides highest-possible F=1 child resistance while remaining easy to open for seniors and consumers with dexterity challenges.

This year, three products across Birds Eye’s Steamfresh Vegetables (750g) range will consist of 22 per cent recycled content within the steam bags, with plans for a broader roll-out in coming years.

The updated packaging will also feature a QR code directing curious consumers to a short video communicating the brand’s sustainability credentials and ongoing commitment to supporting a circular economy.

The QR code is an initiative by Birds Eye and managed in-house as a method of communicating the company’s PCR initiative in a format accessible to consumers.

The retailer said the new lamb mince packaging would save 26 tonnes of plastic annually with a minimum 65% reduction in plastic per product.

The new packaging has been rolled out across all Sainsbury’s fresh lamb mince products, available to purchase both in-store and online.
