Opening from 2 until 11 June, the "Recycle Bar" is decorated with more than 30 pieces of bar furniture made out of 18,000 plastic bottles by 3D-printing, and with a collection of rPET turned everyday items that is exhibited on spot. Visitors are encouraged to recycle used PET bottles for redemption of free beverages and rPET-made souvenirs.

Finnish beauty brand Lumene has launched a biobased packaging with both the jar and label made with UPM’s wood-based material, further processed by Sabic. 

Lumene’s new jar and the self-adhesive label originate from renewable UPM BioVerno naphtha, produced by UPM in Finland. The naphtha is processed into certified renewable polypropylene by Sabic, a chemical industry specialist, and then converted both into commonly recyclable cosmetics containers and product labels printed on UPM Raflatac Forest Film label material.  

On World Environment Day 2023, ITC reaffirmed its commitment to address the issue of plastic waste management through its multi-dimensional initiatives. Powered by its ‘Sustainability 2.0’ vision articulated by Chairman and MD, Mr Sanjiv Puri, the company has been scaling up its investment in developing innovative and eco-friendly packaging solutions that can substitute single-use plastics. ITC sustained its Plastic Neutrality status for the 2nd consecutive year by sustainably managing 60,000 MT of plastic waste in FY23, which is more than the amount of packaging utilised.
