Pharma Packaging

The new tube solutions are a packaging first: fully recyclable tube solutions whose body, shoulder and caps are composed of a single material family. Also available in screw-top formats, the new tubes are ideal for health & beauty, food and pharma packaging applications.

In existing recycling streams, mono-material plastic packaging is exceedingly more preferable than combination plastics, as its comparable simplicity is considered fully recyclable in mechanical recycling plants and therefore a key factor in moving toward a truly circular packaging landscape.

Called the Pentafill® L + Fill, the machine now adds filling capability to the Pentafill L unit which only seals the vials. The new machine accommodates five-unit strips of 0.33-, 0.6-, 1-, 3-, 5- and 10-ml plastic (PE, LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PP and EVOH barrier) vials. To execute a fill/seal, an operator loads the five-unit strips into a holder, which is then manually inserted into the machine. The vials are filled and sealed automatically, followed by manual removal of the holder.

Micro ECO + Mezzo ECO incorporates up to 45% PCR* in the combined components and are Cotrep certified for eco-design. Aptar’s entire range of locally-produced airless solutions are 100% plastic and ECO-Cert certified, provide optimal formula protection, and are compatible for a multitude of application fields including skin, hair and body care, color cosmetics and hand sanitizer. Customers are able to convert the current Micro and Mezzo top-fill package in a multitude of colors and sizes through Aptar’s extensive PCR supply.
